It is a popular mahayana 'long mantra' to Hari Hara including ugra rupas of Visnu (Varaha, Nrsimha). It should help against all negativity. I am interested in a specific experience. A: I found it and tried to read it only now. Nice energy, I will sing it daily. Why is there a longer and shorter version? J: I don't know. Some of mahayana texts have it that way. There are more versions of M.k.c.d., but those two are reconstructed Sanskrit. Its 21-times recitation is supposed to destroy everything negative. A: I just recited the Mahakarunika 21-times yesterday. The long version. It took slightly over an hour. It was cool. I feel a certain difference after doing the MKCD 21-times. I can't describe it exactly, it's a subtle inner feeling, but something fell off me, went off. Thank you very much for its recommendation, I'll pass it on to whoever needs it. A: I shared the MKCD with my mom and with another classmate from elementary school who's in very bad mental state, severe depression for about two years. There I see the potential it can help her. When I recited the MKCD 21-times, I thought of her and thought I could record it and send it to her to play it and read it. Then I wasn't sure if I should do it, I didn't even know how she was at the moment. But she suddenly called me two hours later (we haven't been in touch for at least 6 months) that she was totally finished, nothing helps - psychiatrists, psychodrugs, she was even in a mental asylum receiving electric shocks to the brain. So I saw it as a clear sign that she should get it. But then I also sent her to my Godbrother from Ostrava (name withheld). He's having a pretty severe crisis too and I see there clearly symptoms of some entities. He was with his wife for about a year and a half during the lockdown in India, first in Mayapur, but then they moved to Vrindavan. He got for me those Deities. But he made a lot of offenses there, unfortunately. And they argued a lot. By the end he was he was under pressure from the crazy corona situation, plane tickets were expiring, ambiguity and existential uncertainty, visa problems etc., he lost money, and he was angry at Krisna threatening to throw his shilas into the river, etc. He wasn't ready for such a long stay in Vrindavan and his wife for sure wasn't. Now they're in Colombia and the fall is unreal. A completely different person. He wants to take ayahuasca etc. Anyway, I thought MKCD could help him too, because I have a fresh realization with it now. I sent him your materials. But he started finding faults, if I have any bona fide translation of the mantra into English, and what it actually means. On the web it seems that nothing like this can be found, I tried it, but it's quite a mess. But you always have everything. :) J: I don't have everything. 8) The most info is in the en wiki article. Translations of dharanis are usually skipped in translations of sutras. Maybe they are not exactly known, or deliberately kept secret. They can also have more meanings, as with mahamantra. Generally, they are about invoking different forms and emanations of Buddha/Visnu or his sakti (Tara/Laksmi etc.) to help. I found a text of one similar dharani, as an example of meaning. General Translation of the Great Compassion Mantra: Adoration to the Almighty One. Adoration to the noble Avalokitesvara, bodhisattva, the Great Compassionate One. I continually adore the One who Dispels all Fears, O noble Avalokitesvara, adoration to You, O Nilakantha. I shall clearly sing the ‘heart’ dharani for the sake of all beings, for it is pure and serves all purposes for all beings, as it purifies the path of soul existence. Therefore, Lord of Radiance, World-Transcending One, Come, come, great bodhisattva, descend, descend. Bear in mind my heart-dharani. Do, do the work in our souls. Hold on, oh, Victor, oh Great Victorious One. Hold on, hold on, oh Lord of the Dharani. Move, move my immaculate image, come, come. Destroy every poison. Quick, in, quick, bear, descend, descend. Quick, bear in mind, quick, quick, descend, descend. Enlightened being, O enlightened being, enlighten me, enlighten me. Oh merciful, my Lord, appear to me. To You who sees us all, amen. To the Great Lord, amen. To the Great Lord in Yoga, amen. To my Lord, amen. To the Varaha, amen. Adoration to the Triple Gem. Adoration to the noble Avalokitesvara bodhisattva, amen. Several English translations are in that article on en wiki. Nilakantha in this dharani is Hari Hara Siva. Therefore he also manifests the forms of Visnu (Varaha and Nrsimha) and since he is Asutosa, he helps quickly. If someone is looking for mistakes, excuses for not using it, etc., it can also be the influence of entities. Therefore, I would recommend giving it only to those who show interest in it, when you tell them the basic info. Otherwise they won't use it anyway, because they don't have sukriti. However, the result of personal recitation can be given to anyone. The reciter doesn't lose it, but it 'copies' itself for the benefit of the person in need. It's an expression of compassion (karuna). A: I have sung MKCD 21-times several times. It has moved me up a lot, but the entities still annoy me. J: Regarding the fact that the problems continue, I was thinking that maybe they are caused by some aparadhas from the past. There must simply be something present that interferes with your immunity to these things. It would need some thorough diagnostics. A: MKCD has really made a big difference. I've sung it again 21-times recently (I had water in front of me, which I then sprinkled on the floor around the perimeter of the apartment, in corners of all walls and around doors and windows) and I definitely want to recite also Lalita sahasra nama regularly, which I haven't done yet. I can't do now MKCD every day either. But your recommendation to recite MKCD three times a day at sandhyas and once a day LSN is certainly sensible. LSN just really takes a lot of time [20 minutes]. I've got so many activities that it's really not easy to incorporate it into the everyday sadhana. I want to have all these mantras in the apartment and others like Nrsimha kavaca, the ghost passage from Garuda Purana and more, to constantly play them with Prabhupada's japa from a small mp3 player. Well, the last thing I haven't mentioned before, which I've only realized now in the last few days. By the time I began to understand that Lord Siva had started to help us, and also around the time that the Chinese Buddhist lady sent us her recorded chanting of MKCD made for us to help us to get rid of ghosts, the devotees asked me to help them with the inventory in the warehouse. There was also Lord Siva's murti, which didn't have a box, so I was able to take it, which I appreciated a lot because I wanted to have Siva on the altar. And then there was another murti in the box among some Chinese kitsch souvenirs. I'm sending the photo in the attachment. I didn't know who it was, nor did I particularly like it, I just felt sorry to throw it out and no one wanted it, so I took it, too. Well, it was at home in the lower shelf of the altar wrapped in translucent plastic the whole time, and I didn't pay much attention to it. My wife said it was some kind of Buddhist demigod, so I didn't worry about it. Only now did I understand that it was Quan Yin, Maha Boddhisattva Avalokitesvara, who sometimes takes a female form and sometimes a male form. One who actually sings MKCD. So s/he came to us back then after the first contact with MKCD. That's really cool. So now s/he will be in the lower part of the altar without plastic and I can turn to her while reciting MKCD. I also offer her during arati items offered to Deities and Siva, as the last in line. Because I feel really very grateful to her. Quan Yin, by the way, has a huge statue in Hong Kong, I mean the largest in the world, in a monastery https://www.tszshan.org/ J: Nice, how they manifest in multiple forms at the same time. Quan Yin is in the Vedic context Laksmi, so she should not receive Visnu-tattva prasadam like Siva, but should be on the altar on the same level as Laksmi-Nrsimha. You can find more about her in Bhagavat sandarbha 104. Yeah, I've seen that statue. It appears in movies, too.
